Dr Fiona Kyle

Fiona's research interests lie in the area of developmental psychology including literacy and language development in both typical and atypical populations, cogntive development, working memory, and prospective memory. Her PhD was the first investigation into the longitudinal predictors of reading and spelling development in deaf children. She was awarded an ESRC Postoctoral Fellowship to continue her investigation with Professor Usha Goswami.

She has worked as a lecturer at University College London and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in their Deafness, Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) where she designed a child-friendly computer game for measuring speechreading ability in both deaf and hearing children. Her current work is working for the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland on developing the Graphogame a grapheme-phoneme game for preschool children who are at risk of dyslexia.
