Reasoning & Science Learning
Event details:
The INSTRUCT research group (sites.google.com/site/instructlab) has been studying how students' reasoning abilities relate to their ability to learn about scientific ideas, especially those that involve stuff we can't see (atoms, cells and other microscopic stuff).
As part of the Festival of !deas, our director, Dr Michelle Ellefson, will be running a session for you to try out one of our new computer tasks and/or to take part in an activity looking at how stuff dissolves in water.

Infant Cognition Lab Workshop
Event details:
Here at the Infant Cognition Lab we are interested in how babies see the world. Even though they cannot speak, they certainly make sense of things around them.
As part of the Festival of !deas, the Director of the ICL, Dr Claudia Uller, will be running a workshop on how babies think: what we have learnt so far, and what our research aims to find out. This workshop is likely to appeal to anyone wishing to learn more about how intelligent babies are!
All babies who take part in this event will receive a T-Shirt to remind them of their visit!
