It is with great sadness that the Faculty announces the sudden death, early on 16 October 2007, of Professor Donald McIntyre. An obituary is posted here.

A Book of Condolences is available at the Faculty Reception, for friends and colleagues to sign, either before or after the Celebration of Donald's life, on Friday, 26 October.

The pages will be bound later, to allow people from some distance the opportunity to contribute. Please e-mail Judy Stevens jas60@cam.ac.uk by 9 November, 2007.

Faculty closed from 2pm on Friday 26 October

A celebration of the life of Prof McIntyre will be held in the Faculty of Education from 4pm on Friday 26th October. The Faculty will be closed from 2pm that afternoon.

A note to staff on car parking

We anticipate that there could be hundreds of guests coming from all over the UK (and from overseas too!), some of whom will obviously be coming be car. We have arranged with Homerton College that we can have the use of the MAB and Harrison Drive car parks, and that the barriers will be left up from 2.00pm. It would make things easier for our guests if staff could park in either of these car parks to leave the NFB car park available for visitors.
