Education-line

Education-line is a freely accessible database of the full text of conference papers, working papers and electronic literature which supports educational research, policy and practice.

Directory of Open Access Journals

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals and aims to cover all subjects and languages. From the Browse by subject list, click on Social Sciences for journals related to Education.

British Education Internet Resource Catalogue

The British Education Internet Resource Catalogue is a freely accessible database of information about professionally evaluated and described internet sites which support educational research, policy and practice.

Multiverse

Multiverse is funded by the Training and Development Agency for Schools and is aimed particularly at teacher educators and student teachers/trainees, but would also be useful for researchers. It provides access to a comprehensive range of resources (research reports, journal articles, book reviews, videos with transcripts, websites, newspaper reports etc.) which focus on the educational achievement of pupils from diverse backgrounds. It is free to register and provides access to many full-text documents.

TLRP (Teaching and Learning Research Programme)

TLRP is the UK Economic and Social Research Council's largest research programme and its aim is to emphasise the positive contribution being made by research on teaching and learning. The website provides access to a range of publications and resources related to TLRP's aims; many have also been produced by TLRP researchers. To access full-text documents describing materials that could be helpful to educational researchers, click on Capacity and then on Research Approaches. Other resources, some of which are full-text documents, can be accessed via the Publications and Resources links.

Educational Evidence Portal

The EEP provides access to collections of documents derived from the websites of a wide number of organisations and to a database of selected articles from a small group of organisations, indexed in greater detail.

Intute

Intute is a free online service providing you with access to the very best internet resources for education and research. The service is created by a network of UK universities and partners. Subject specialists select and evaluate the websites in the database and write high quality descriptions of the resources. The database contains 121174 records.

Screenonline

Screenonline is the British Film Institute's website, the Education Zone, contains lesson plans, downloadable resources, teaching tips etc. with the aim of supporting teachers in the teaching of a range of different subjects by means of film and television. Access to the moving image material is free and available to all UK schools, colleges, universities and public libraries.
