Locating a journal article
Once you have searched a bibliographic database such as BEI or ERIC you will need to find out how to access the journals listed in your references.
Step 1
Check if a journal title is available electronically:
• Go to the list of Education Ejournals on the Library web pages
• If the journal title is not there, check the University Library's index of Electronic Journals
If you cannot find the journal title then either the University does not have a subscription to the electronic version or the journal is not available in electronic format.
Step 2
Check if a journal is available in print copy:
• From the Newton online catalogue click on Search Multiple Catalogues at the top of the screen. Highlight Local Database and University Library & Dependent Libraries, click on connect and enter the name of the journal in the search box. Make sure you have selected Journal Title on the right hand side and click on Search.
If you cannot trace the journal anywhere in Cambridge and the article is more than 10 pages long, please contact the Library and we will place an Inter-Library Loan for you. This incurs a charge of 10 pence per page and the article usually arrives within a few days.
