The Newton Catalogue – Online Help
From the Faculty Library web page, click on Newton Catalogue.
- Limit your search
- Before you start searching the catalogue, select More Search Limits & specify Education Faculty Library from the Location box, then click on Set Limits
- At the search screen
- At the Guided Search screen, type in the last name of the author and one word from the title as illustrated below:

- Click on Search when ready and your results will be displayed
- At the Guided Search screen, type in the last name of the author and one word from the title as illustrated below:
- Your results
- If there are several titles found, there will be a list of results for you to look through. To sort the list to see the most recent publications first, click on the Sort by box and select Publish Date Descending
- Click on the title and a full record will be displayed as follows:

- At the bottom of the record, check the status to see which copies are available to borrow
- In the above example, there are 6 copies of this book (see Number of items). Only Copies 3 & 6 are shown as on loan, so Copies 1, 2, 4 & 5 will be available on the shelves
