Profile

James de Winter taught science in secondary schools for eight years. During that time, he was head of Physics, coordinator for ICT and had responsibility for managing and delivering ICT training for all staff.

James has been working as an associate at the faculty for over five years, teaching on the Science/Physics secondary and KS2/3 courses. He also works for the Science Leaning Centre East of England developing and delivering CPD for teachers as well as consulting on various science and physics education projects regionally and nationally.

James has written a variety of materials for students and teachers including GCSE textbooks and interactive CDROMS, KS2 science class readers and teacher guides to support A-level physics practical work. He has also been a consultant for a series of high interest science books for KS2 and a set of teachers TV programs. He is an editorial associate for School Science Review and on the reviewing panel for the Journal of Teacher Development
