Profile
Paul worked as a teacher in comprehensive schools in Bristol, Sheffield and Chesterfield for fourteen years before returning to Cambridge where he had been an undergraduate. There, in 1988 he become Head of History and Director of Studies in History at Homerton College where he remained until 2001 and the successful absorption of the academic staff of Homerton into the new enlarged Faculty of Education. Up until 2001, Paul’s research had focused on contemporary issues in our school system, but since resigning his membership of Homerton College in 2001, Paul’s research has been in history: he is currently working on education and development in British Colonial Africa. In addition to his academic output, Paul has written at length on some of the implications and matters arising from his research in the form of novels and songs.
