Profile
Prior to entering Educational Research, David worked as a FE College Lecturer in English and Philosophy, Secondary School Teacher of English and University Tutor in Philosophy. In 2000 he joined the Open University as a Research Fellow conducting a three-year evaluation of the impact of ICT on the quality of teaching and learning in the UK and the NOF (National Opportunities Fund) ICT Professional Development Programme for Teachers; and as Editorial Assistant for the journal Education, Communication & Information.
From 2004 to 2006 he worked at the Learning and Skills Development Agency (later the Learning and Skills Network) as Evaluation Researcher at the LSDA/LSN Research Directorate Evaluation Unit, working in such areas as Learner Voice, Self-Assessment, Offender Education and Quality Improvement in the post-16 sector.
He has also been a research member of an Evaluation Team for the Youth Music Programme and is currently a consultant and assessment associate for the Edexcel Examinations Board piloted AS level qualification 'Perspectives on Science: Ethics, History and Philosophy of Science'.
