Profile

Celia began her teaching career in inner-city Birmingham schools, and has taught in a range of schools in Cambridgeshire. A keen and committed linguist, as Director of MFL Celia worked to gain Specialist Language status, and twice led her school to achieve the British Council International Schools Award. At that time, she led Comenius projects and served on the regional Specialist Languages committee of the Specialist Schools Advisory Trust.

During subsequent years as a senior leader in a large school, her main focus was on the quality of teaching and on professional development, including ITE and NQT, continuing professional development and performance management. She led on developing and distributing leadership, building a coaching culture, as well as creating a research environment within school as the teacher research coordinator with the SUPER partnership. Celia’s strong interest in the structures of education led her into school governance and she served as a teacher governor for many years.
