Profile
The majority of my teaching career has been in secondary school as a mathematics teacher and head of department in Cambridgeshire schools. I was seconded for almost four years to work on a research project on children's learning of mathematics and to write mathematics textbooks which were formulated upon that, and other research. I then returned to school teaching as a head of mathematics and mentor of ITE trainees. In 1999 I moved into HEI-based ITE at the University of East Anglia where I was responsible for the Secondary Mathematics partnership PGCE. In 1998 I joined the staff here fulfilling a similar teaching role in Secondary and KS2/3 PGCE Mathematics.
