Profile
Before coming to the Faculty, Jane taught in primary schools for 15 years and was a senior manager in a junior school in Essex. During this time she was responsible for the inductioin of NQTs in the school. She worked for Essex Local Authority as a science advisor and for the London Borough of Enfield as a support teacher for PE. She is currently course manager for the Early Years and Primary PGCE course and lectures in Professional Studies and PE but has also taught Science and Design & Technology on the course. She is particularly interested in teachers' professional development in the area of mentoring and co-ordinates 'Level 2' PCPS course in mentoring. She has also developed two CD-roms as part of a regional initiative to be used in mentor training. She has written science materials for a number of educational publishers including the BBC.
