Profile

Dominic is a Lecturer in Primary and Early Years Education with main research interests in the teaching of English; creativity; and the study of childhood. His research articles have included analyses of government policy on the teaching of literacy including grammar. His most recent book is the Good Writing Guide for Education Students (Sage Publications). The second edition of his book Teaching English, Language and Literacy (with Russell Jones, published by Routledge) will be published in 2006 as will his book Teach Your Child to Read and Write (BBC/Pearson). His current research includes acting as research consultant to the Primary Review, and an analysis of literacy policy following the Rose Report on the teaching of reading.
