Why did you decide to become a teacher?

'I have always wanted to be an English teacher, since I can remember and so everything I had done, education-wise, was geared towards me fulfilling this ambition.'

Why did you choose Cambridge to do your PGCE?

'I chose Cambridge because I did my undergrad degree here and it just seemed a natural thing to do to stay on. I had also heard of course, in my teen years that Cambridge was one of the best institutions in the country and naturally I wanted to be a part of this as teaching and being a good teacher is the profession I have looked towards.'

Any brief comments about the PGCE so far?

'It's quite tough at the moment and I haven't yet mastered the art of balancing everything, i.e. the assignments that we have to do and the lesson planning, but what's great is the time you spend in school literally straight away and that is what it's all about; and the balance between this and subject studies is very good, because you get to learn how teach simultaneously with actual classroom experience.
