Course Description
Cambridge & District Community Mediation Service is sponsoring this short course. It aims to provide an overview of Restorative Approaches to conflict in schools for those with an interest in this area, whether they are school-based or not. It will be of interest to people from schools, police, probation, Youth Offending services and Children's Services, and to volunteers and other working in the field of mediation and Restorative Justice.
Drawing on many years of practice and research in this area, Dr Cremin will outline a process which has been shown to reduce bullying and violence in schools, divert young people from crime and anti-social behaviour, and promote wellbeing and the social and emotional aspects of learning. She will also introduce a 60 hour accredited CPD/PPD course on the same subject that will being in January 2010.
