Science teacher researchers and practitioners

Lead tutor: Elaine Wilson

This course will lead to the Certificate of Educational Enquiry and would offer the opportunity for experienced science teachers to accredit sustained classroom based work and would recognise the collaborative work being done with the Faculty's PGCE/M level beginning teachers.

This course will provide support for school based teacher mentors to extend their knowledge of classroom-based research methods whilst at the same time developing their classroom practice. The aim is to encourage the teachers to build and develop the ideas encountered during the course and to undertake classroom-based research methods.

There will be a one-day initial introductory Science Learning Centre (SLC) course in early September, access to on-line materials and email support from Faculty staff. Final presentation of work will be in June.
