Web Publishing For Research Projects
POLICY WP001
Policy Date: December 2006
All research projects are entitled to a presence on the Faculty’s website, provided that:
- A member of the Faculty’s academic staff is involved in the project.
- The Faculty is the recipient of any external funding for the project, or the project is funded by Faculty Research Development.
- The content is prepared by a member of the research project staff, whose name will appear on the project site.
- The content is approved and published by web staff.
Provided the above conditions are met, no charge will be made for the creation and maintenance of a limited number (about 10) of simple pages within the Faculty house style. Where pages are presented to web staff in a format other than HTML, it should be plain text.
If a project requires a web presence which is more extensive than that outlined above, then a charge will be made. This should be factored in to any bids which project managers make to funding agencies. A specification of requirements should be given to the web staff who will respond indicating applicable charges.
If a project manager wishes to use outside consultants or project staff themselves to design and maintain the project’s website using another web host, a link to this will be provided, where possible, from a suitable page on the Faculty website
