Accessing CamTools

CamTools is located at https://camtools.cam.ac.uk . We suggest you bookmark this address in your web-browser.

There is no need for any extra software to be loaded, as CamTools works through your existing internet browser. This means that CamTools can be securely accessed from any computer with an Internet connection, whether inside or outside the University network.

To access CamTools, you will need your Raven ID and password. IDs and passwords are normally issued to all students and staff on arrival. More information on Raven, and details on how to reset a forgotten password can be found here: http://raven.cam.ac.uk

Members from outside the University, who do not have a Raven ID, can access CamTools using a "Friends" login ID using an email address. If you have forgotten your "Friend ID" password, you can reset it here: https://camtools.cam.ac.uk/selfserve/

Most browsers will work reasonable well with CamTools, but as there are an awful lot of web browsers available now, and they often change very quickly. CamTools has been tested with Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8, and they're probably still the best browsers to use. Chrome, Safari, the latest version of Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 and 9 will also work, but if you find a problem, please try switching your browser, and mail the CamTools helpdesk with the bug so they can try to fix the problem as soon as possible.

CamTools Guides, Video Tutorials and Frequently Asked Questions can be found on the Caret website, direct link: https://camtools.cam.ac.uk/access/content/public/help.html
