Accessing CamTools

CamTools is located at https://camtools.cam.ac.uk . We suggest you bookmark this address in your web-browser.

There is no need for any extra software to be loaded, as CamTools works through your existing internet browser. This means that CamTools can be securely accessed from any computer with an Internet connection, whether inside or outside the University network.

To access CamTools, you will need your Raven ID and password. IDs and passwords are normally issued to all students and staff on arrival. More information on Raven, and details on how to reset a forgotten password can be found here: http://raven.cam.ac.uk

Members from outside the University, who do not have a Raven ID, can access CamTools using a "Friends" login ID using an email address. If you have forgotten your "Friend ID" password, you can reset it here: https://camtools.cam.ac.uk/selfserve/

If you are using a PC, a number of Internet browsers can be used with CamTools, including Internet Explorer (versions later than 5.5), Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape (versions later than 7.1).

At the moment, Macintosh users only have Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape (versions later than 7.1) fully supported – not Safari. Students using Safari shouldn't see any problems, but lecturers and administrators probably will experience problems with administrative tasks and uploads.

CamTools Guides, Video Tutorials and Frequently Asked Questions can be found on the Caret website, direct link: https://camtools.cam.ac.uk/access/content/public/help.html
