PEDAL presents:

Playing, learning, thriving | The power of play for health and wellbeing

Tuesday 30 June 2020 9am to 6pm

Donald McIntyre Building, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge

A one-day conference from the PEDAL (Play in Education, Development and Learning) Research Centre at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. This conference will explore the links between play and health in a variety of settings. It will include keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops.

The programme will cover:

  • the use of play in healthcare settings in both UK and international contexts
  • the links between play and wellbeing for children and young people
  • future developments in play and health

This year’s conference reflects our increasing research focus on the role of play in health and healthcare settings. We are a part of a new collaborative project focussing on play in hospitals in Copenhagen and Cambridge, funded by LEGO Foundation. Through the conference we hope to bring together an international community of researchers, clinicians and practitioners working with children and young people.

The conference aims to examine the benefits of play for health and wellbeing and we will share ideas, learnings and best practice across sectors.
