Profile

My research addresses educational inequalities and the structural, institutional and policy mechanisms that shape children and young people's life chances. I have extensive experience of working across government, academia and other sectors combining rigorous quantitative analysis with a strong commitment to social justice in education.

I have held research and policy roles within Universities and UK government departments, including my current secondment to the Department for Education, where I advise on evidence-based policy development. The work I do is interdisciplinary. I regularly collaborate with policy makers, practitioners and international reseachers and speak on issues related to equity and the determinants of educational outcomes
