Profile

Kate is a teaching associate with a particular interest in inclusive education, the teaching of primary humanities and primary mathematics. Prior to this, she taught as a classroom teacher and Primary Mathematics specialist, before becoming Strategic Lead for Teaching and Learning in a large primary school. She is currently co-opted as governor to a primary school within the partnership and provides small group tutoring. 

Kate is a professional studies tutor for the Primary PGCE and supervises on the Primary Education masters course. She leads the teaching of humanities for Primary PGCE students and has a particular interest in history, working as a member of the editorial board for the Historical Association's Primary History journal. She is a section one assessor for the Primary PGCE and external examiner for the BA Education course at Roehampton University, as well as associate editor of JoTTER.

Kate's personal research interests focus on disability and inclusive education. She is currently exploring the experiences of neurodivergent students undertaking initial teacher education courses. She is a member of the Faculty EDI committee and Inclusive Spaces working group.
