Cambridge Positive Peace Education (CPPE) Hub

About the project

Launched in autumn 2025, the Cambridge Positive Peace Education (CPPE) Hub is an ambitious new peace education research project. It aims to create a context-adaptable, global peace education framework, curriculum and resources, to be shared via an interactive platform, the CPPE Digital Hub.

Focusing on the development and promotion of positive peace, the CPPE Hub aims to support learners, educators, schools, and education systems in addressing direct, structural and cultural forms of violence, and in promoting more equitable and just schools and societies.

The CPPE Hub builds on Professor Hilary Cremin’s decades of experience in peace education, particularly her newly developed Positive Peace Education Learning Objectives and two recent positive peace education projects in Kazakhstan and the UK.

Reflecting this work, the CPPE Hub Framework and Curriculum will address the spectrum of inner, interpersonal, communal, international, digital, and ecological realms of peace, the relationships between these dimensions, and the role of systems in peacebuilding.

Five main strands of activity

  1. Undertaking a global needs analysis to identify current priorities for peace education internationally.
  2. Developing the context-adaptable CPPE Framework and Curriculum and mapping existing peace education resources against its domains and learning objectives.
  3. Conducting case studies to implement and evaluate the CPPE Framework and Curriculum in real-world educational contexts.
  4. Creating the CPPE Digital Hub, which will host the CPPE Framework, Curriculum and resources; provide a virtual space in which educators, researchers and others can connect; and serve as a sustainable, evolving repository of positive peace education knowledge, practice and training.
  5. Developing a network of practitioners, researchers, young people, and policymakers to advance practice, foster collaboration and promote positive peace education across their respective regions.

Become part of the CPPE Hub network

Central to the CPPE Hub is the creation of a network of peace educators and practitioners, peace education researchers, and policymakers. This aims to connect individuals across the globe to share peace education knowledge and practice; disseminate information on peace education projects, training and events; and contribute to the CPPE Hub’s development.
