Fully-funded LEGO PhD studentship

The PEDAL Centre, within the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Education, is recruiting for a three-year fully-funded PhD studentship on the topic of the development of play and playfulness in early life supervised by Professor Paul Ramchandani. Professor Ramchandani is moving to the University of Cambridge from Imperial College London in January 2018 and will lead a research group focused on the role of play in early child development. His previous research is in the field of child and adolescent mental health, and there will be overlaps with this area of study.

The successful candidate will benefit from joining an established research group, from access to a state-of-the-art observation lab and a database of research participants, as well as testing equipment to support their research, including video observation hardware and software and an eye-tracking booth. The Faculty of Education also benefits from excellent connections with local schools and has a vibrant research community.

The scholarship will cover University and College fees as well as an annual maintenance stipend.

The deadline for applications is 6 December 2017.
