The Knowledge Quartet as a framework for reflecting on teaching - PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE IS SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION FOR 2016/17

Course overview:
This short course will introduce you to a tool which you can use for your own professional development and to support the development of colleagues, including NQTs and trainees. The course specifically focuses on the pedagogical content knowledge deployed in teaching mathematics. The ‘Knowledge Quartet’ framework will be introduced as a tool for identifying issues in relation to mathematical knowledge. This framework was identified in Cambridge from observation research into mathematics teaching. In preparation for the second day you will be asked to video or write a descriptive account of one of your own maths lessons and that of a willing colleague who would like support.

Who is this course aimed at?
This two half day course is designed for practicing primary school teachers. It would be suitable for mathematics co-ordinators, class teachers or teachers mentoring RQTs, NQTs or trainees.

Award: These two half day conferences are non-accredited but an attendance certificate will be provided for your CPD record.

Cost: £200 per delegate
