Profile

Madeleine Brens is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge where she completed her MPhil in 2009 (The Arts Award: Creating Artists and Arts Leaders). She has recently presented her work (Female Young Offenders and the Impact of Arts Engagement) at an international conference (The Emergent Adult, 2010). Currently, she is undertaking a phenomenological case study which looks at the experiences of adolescent females and their engagement in an arts programme.

Prior to coming to Cambridge, Madeleine completed her teacher training in Canada and taught Visual Art and English for several years at a secondary school in Toronto, Canada.
