Profile

Jennie was Head of Music for many of the fourteen years that she taught at an Upper School in Bury St Edmunds. She now works as a seconded mentor for the Cambridge University Secondary Music PGCE course where she helps to train new music teachers.  Jennie also teaches the ‘Principles and Practice of Music Education’ course at Anglia Ruskin University.  She is very interested in how and why students might compose and has written a couple of articles in national music education publications on composition teaching. Jennie has recently completed a Master’s degree in Educational Research with a focus on the experience of secondary music teachers.

Jennie is also a flautist and enjoys playing in orchestras, pit bands and folk groups. She enjoys singing and writing songs.
