Profile
Bethan works predominantly with the Schools University Partnership in Educational Research (SUPER). Prior to this, she taught for seventeen years in 11-18 secondary schools in the UK and the UAE as teacher and Head of Department (English) before joining the Faculty. Her current research interests focus on classroom teaching and learning, particularly in the area of pupil engagement, pupil consultation and 'pupil voice'. Both her MPhil and ESRC funded PhD projects were linked to the ESRC/TLRP Consulting Pupils about Teaching and Learning Network (directed by Professor Jean Rudduck). Data from both projects is featured in Rudduck, J & McIntyre, D (2007) Improving Learning through Consulting Pupils, London: Routledge. Bethan has compiled a bibliography for the late Professor Donald McIntyre, her MPhil and PhD supervisor.
