Kalamna, formerly Ahlan Arabic, provides Arabic language classes for children and parents in Cambridge. Kalamna in Arabic means ‘our words’ and reflects our focus on communicating in spoken Arabic as a reflection of Arabic culture, in a fun and stimulating environment. We also provide opportunities for Arabic-speaking families to socialise and create lasting friendships and connections.

We currently offer classes for all ages, from toddlers to teens, in addition to our parents’ class for parents to learn spoken, conversational Arabic.

Our founder Dr Saussan Khalil is an Arabic Language Teaching Officer in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, Cambridge University. Saussan is a qualified and experienced Arabic as a foreign language teacher with a particular interest in teaching and learning spoken Arabic.
