Decolonial STEM and Geography Education

For years now scholars and educators have been investigating the impact of colonial histories on curriculum, higher education experiences, and teacher education in formerly colonised communities and in the former colonial powers.

However, very few initiatives exist in the UK (a former colonial power) exploring and supporting the work and professional learning of schoolteachers and teacher educators, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and geography school subjects.

The Decolonial STEM and Geography Education research project seeks to explore this particular landscape: the decolonial and anti-racist praxis of STEM and Geography schoolteachers and teacher educators across England and Scotland.
