Investigating the personal and social dimensions of teaching and learning.

Action Research in Teacher Education is a partnership project between the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education and three secondary schools in East Anglia.

It is the English branch of an international project involving higher education institutions and teachers from Holland, the USA and Russia.

The purpose of the research is to investigate, with teachers and students, the emotional and social dimensions of teaching and learning. At the same time, the project is concerned with teacher development in schools through action research involving partnership with higher education.

In England, the three schools in the project are
Sharnbrook Upper School and Community College, Bedfordshire
Ramsey Abbey School, Cambridgeshire
St Ivo School, Cambridgeshire.

The project is funded by the Wallenberg Centre.
