Soham Village College Academy
Soham’s Teacher Research Lead and Pedagogy Leaders work in collaboration with the Faculty of Education and other partnership schools in our local area. This offers maximum impact and benefit to the research undertaken, in terms of embedding findings into improving the quality and experience of teaching and learning. Practitioner research is firmly embedded into our culture and practice as we use Research Lesson Study as our main CPD vehicle. Every teacher at Soham is a research practitioner, working collaboratively with colleagues to create new knowledge and improve their own practice.
A primary benefit of the partnership has been the opportunity to promote and support ambitious and talented teachers on the SUPER MEd programme (2005-2017). The professional development acquired through this route has been of profound value on both a personal and an institutional level, as colleagues were able to explore an area of interest which benefitted the school and fed into our common strands within SUPER.

Teacher Research Lead: Krista Carson
Krista works in close liaison with the Pedagogy Leaders at the college to help monitor the quality of the research which colleagues undertake. She attends the SUPER TRL meetings, aiming to provide a link between senior leadership improvement priorities and practical research which can be implemented to improve quality of teaching and learning on a day-to-day basis.
