There are various ways to access University extension voicemail.

• Access from your Desk Phone
• Access from another Phone
• Access via the Web

Voicemail Notifications – There are three ways that you can get notified

• Red Light: The red light on your phone is lit
• E-Mail Alert: You get an e-mail with a link to the voicemail message
• E-Mail Delivery: You get the voicemail delivered via an e-mail attachment

The e-mail options can be configured via the web pages at [UIS: Voicemail options]. The red light will always be used to indicate new voicemail messages - even if you have them delivered to you via e-mail. This is different to the previous voicemail system.

Voicemail: Access from your Desk Phone

To access your voicemail box from your extension, either dial 47474 or Msgs (soft key), or, if you have a 7941 or 7961 phone, you can press the "Messages" button on your phone. You will then only have to enter your mailbox PIN.

Voicemail: Access from another Phone

To access the voicemail system from outside the University, dial 01223 747474 then dial *.  You will then be asked for your mailbox ID. Type your extension number and then press "#". You will then be asked for your PIN. The default mailbox PIN is "01234" if you arrived after the 01 January 2012 or have asked for your voicemail to be reset your PIN will be "98753" or a random generated PIN. If you have a randomly generated PIN IT Support will make you aware if the number.  You should change this as soon as you can.

To access your voicemail box from another phone within the University, dial 47474. When prompted for the PIN, press "# #". You will then be prompted for your mailbox ID. Enter your extension number, and press "#". You can then carry on as normal and enter your PIN.

Voicemail: Access via the Web

To access your voicemails via the web [UIS: Voicemail Webpage]. The voicemail web interface is protected by Raven.

The web interface not only allows you to access your voicemails, it also allows you to: [UIS: Voicemail Settings]

• Change your voicemail PIN
• Add a Secretary Number (The extension a caller is diverted to when they press "0" whilst listening to your greeting)
• Add or Remove an email address to be notified when you have voicemail
• Share your voicemail box with someone else
