Key Ideas
Preliminary collaborative work across the partnership identified five broad types of technology-integrated pedagogical strategy. Teachers' projects were designed around these five areas. For example:
Internet Researching
- Developing and refining effective search strategies for using the internet in classroom teaching
- A study of how of the Internet can be effectively integrated into lessons
Mediated Collaboration
- E mail communication between Year 9s in an English and German school
- The development of literacy and computer skills through the use of e-mail
Multisource Learning
Text Reversioning
Virtual Construction
- An investigation into how using simulation software may facilitate the understanding of electronics theory in Year 10 pupils
- Using 2-D Autocad to facilitate Understanding of Orthographic Projection in Year 9
The research design envisaged each example being investigated as a case study with a view to developing warranted practice by articulating and refining the practical theory guiding the pedagogical strategy, and by analysing and evaluating the teaching and learning processes central to the strategy in operation, including their impact on relevant aspects of student attitude and attainment.
