Background

This project evolved from discussions with the government of Antigua and Barbuda, following a Regional Caribbean Conference on 'Keeping Boys Out of Risk' (Montego Bay, Jamaica, May 2009). It brings together expertise and resources from the CCE with the local knowledge and experience of educators, academics and teachers in Antigua and Barbuda, to explore the nature and dimensions of academic underachievement of both boys and girls in the islands, and to develop intervention strategies which have the potential to impact positively upon levels of achievement of boys and girls in primary schools.

Project Poster

In connection with the summer conference held at the end of June 2010 in Mauritius, the research team produced a poster which gives an introduction to two of the projects currently involving members of the Centre for Commonwealth Education in East Africa and the Caribbean.  The poster is available for download as a pdf file.
