Technology-integrated Pedagogical Strategies

Using ICT in the Classroom

This collaborative research programme investigated a range of pedagogical strategies which were identified as the basis for good or promising practice within subject teaching across the secondary curriculum.

Small-scale studies by individuals or pairs of teacher-researchers were set up to analyse how the strategy in question supports student learning in a particular context. These studies were carried out during the 2000/01 school year and supported by the Cambridge University team. Most of the teachers were funded through the DfES Best Practice Research Scholarships scheme.

This web-site outlines the work undertaken in the projects and provides facilities for downloading fuller reports. The main sections of the site offer a project overview, links to the websites of participating institutions, outlines of key ideas informing the project work, and project findings in the form of case reports.

TiPS is part of a wider research programme within the Wallenberg Research Centre concerned with developing Warranted Practice in the use of ICT (WPICT) to support teaching and learning in the secondary school.
