The planning group prepared an Issues paper in advance of the meeting to support all participants in preparing their own individual Statements. These statements were offered as a Synthesis paper in advance.

The event itself combined two keynote presentations and some short inputs by participant contributors with plenty of time in plenary and small discussion groups. The filmed presentation by Andreas Schleicher, Director of the Directorate for Education and Skills of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is available here. The presentation from Professor Pauline Rose, University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, former Director of Education For All Global Monitoring Report, UNESCO, is available here

The overarching references for this 2014 meeting were key recent and upcoming publications, including: PISA 2012; the OECD's work on PISA for Development; TALIS 2013; the UNESCO sponsored Education for All Global Monitoring Report; and debate on the post-2015 education goals.
