PEDAL: Impact

The impact of PEDAL research

As well as contributing to the body of academic knowledge about play, PEDAL shapes opinion, policy and practice by:

  • publishing research in academic journals;
  • sharing our findings and their implications in an accessible and relevant way with those involved in children’s education, welfare and well-being;
  • holding seminars, conferences and events for students and academic colleagues around the world that present current thinking about play – these events are recorded and available online;
  • influencing education, economic and social policy through workshops, strategic consultancy opportunities, policy reports and presentations to UK and international government committees and agencies;
  • engaging with public opinion through social, digital, print and broadcast media and by organising and participating in public events and talks.
