The AVS Service have the professional knowledge, skills and equipment for producing events of all kinds. These events usually take place on Faculty of Education premises but within reason we can film or record off site.
Pre-production - Advice and guidance
Whether you want to self-shoot the event or use the skills within the production team, we recommend you involve the AV production team as soon as possible in the pre-production stage.* We can help you:
- Develop concepts
- Define your audience and message
- Determine ideal video length
- Write scripts and storyboards
- Plan and schedule

- Determine required equipment
Production - Filming and Recording
Faculty students and staff may want to make use of our equipment loan service to self-shoot or record the production or use the skills within the AV production team to produce the event* For example:
- Lectures and seminars
- Conferences
- Talking head interviews/news items/communications
- Project/Research material
- Course promotions
- Live streaming of events
Post-production - Video, Graphics and Sound Editing
Whether you are editing using a smart device, PC, laptop or MAC we recommend you get in contact with us prior to shooting or recording. We can advise on and assist with:
- Media ingest
- Editing of videos and audio
- Adding graphics and titles
- Basic motion graphics
- Sourcing royalty free production music
Publication and delivery
We can see your video or audio production right through to the delivery stage, advise on delivery formats and ensure the highest quality for any given platform. We can publish your finished production* for:
- High quality archiving
- Faculty of Education website
- Faculty of Education YouTube channel
- University of Cambridge Streaming Media Service (SMS)
- Social Media Channels
- e-learning and m-learning platforms

We are unable film or record individuals unless permission has been obtained prior to recording. Please download and complete the Permission Form Adult or Permission Form Child/Vulnerable Adult.
